The term “café” means different things in different parts of the world. In the United States it normally refers to a casual restaurant where patrons are served by waiters, waitresses or servers. Most cafes serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some cafes are open 24 hours a day. Most cafes stay open from early morning until late at night. Some diners refer to themselves as cafes and some coffee shops refer to themselves as cafes.
